Only in America, can a neurosurgeon make significantly less money in one year than a hot celebrity, or Model?, or a Laker?. So much wealth placed to one person, whose really sole purpose is to entertain us? The inequality of the analogy...boggles my mind.
What about teachers? I can't think of a profession that is so IMPORTANT for all of America's citizens now and in our future. The United States general way of thinking is so fucked up sometimes in what it sees as important and meaningful. I don't care what Jennifer Aniston thought when she found out Brad and Angelina were going to have a child. Yet this piece of celebrity gossip(?) has been so forced down my throat in the form of visually harassing ads and mag covers, I eventually did notice the story. I don't care about that. Why isn't the news media telling Americans newsworthy, important stories, such as, Why are we in Iraq?, finding Osama Bin Laden (are they ever going to find him?), the biggest Congressional corruption scandal in over a century, and why the president thinks its O.K. to spy on American citizens? It's maddening for me at times to see so many Americans buying into this DIVERSION and endless SPINNING GAME OF LIES. I really think our government wants us to become stupider. A dumbing of the masses. I'll I can say is, listen to the Democracy Now podcast to save your brain.
I can see it now, A&E Network is going to have a special, never been done before, Intervention with Zilla's roommate for his Brokeback Mountain addiction. Of course, it will be narrated by Bill Curtis, Mr. A&E himself. Good luck Zilla...I know that you are probably seeing cowboys in your dreams by about now.
I agree with your comments about Q-Podder. It seems to be just a posting or bulletin board at the moment. That might now be a bad thing. I'd often thought a calendar style board and/or a hourly grid website containing every queercaster's podcast would be interesting. It might resemble a TV guide, showing all podcasts. But, instead of channels, the individual website would be the channel. Would be nice if the show's description could be incorporated to the grid each time a new podcast is listed. As the Guide updates, new podcasts are continually added and show as listed. Just a thought. I don't know how feasible it would be to create a site like this.
